Iranian Aframax tanker SAHRA has ran aground on 123 kilometer mark, Suez Canal, below Great Bitter Lake, at around 1000 UTC Feb 1, 2021, according to FleetMon.
It stated: “Iranian Aframax tanker SAHRA ran aground on 123 kilometer mark, Suez Canal, below Great Bitter Lake, at around 1000 UTC Feb 1, while transiting Suez in northern direction, en route from Kharg island oil teminal Iran to Mediterranean region, probably for ship-to-ship transfer.
“Tanker was refloated in about 1-2 hours and taken to Great Bitter Lake, where she was anchored, and as of morning Feb 2, remained at anchor. Southbound convoy had to stop to wait until canal was cleared.”
