IEHSE CONFERENCE & AWARDS 2022: “COLLABORATING FOR AN ENERGY SECURE NIGERIA”

In commemoration of the Nigeria’s 62nd Independence Anniversary and in celebration of the 2022 World Energy Day, the 3rd edition of the International Energy Health Safety Security & Environment (IEHSE) Conference & Awards is bringing together over 40 eclectic mix of high profile government functionaries and top notch subject matter experts in the energy, oil and gas industry to dialogue on workable strategies that would deliver improved Energy SECURITY and Overall ENERGY ACCESS outcomes for our Nation and beyond.

Happening LIVE on the 19-20 October, the IEHSE 2022 Conference & Awards ( Virtual ) 2022 aptly themed “COLLABORATING FOR AN ENERGY SECURE NIGERIA” will be officially launched by Conference Chairperson Prof. Abubakar Sanni Sambo (OON, NPOM), Vice Chairman, World Energy Council.

Energy Icon and Dignitaries scheduled to participate at this year’s conference as Special Guests of Honor include Chief Timipre Sylva, Honorable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Engr. Abubakar Aliyu, Honourable Minister of Power, Dr. Mohammed Abdullahi, Honourable Minister of Environment, Senator Margret Chuba Okadigbo, Board Chairman NNPC Limited, Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari, Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, Commission Chief Executive, Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Engr. Farouk Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), and a host of others.

Mr. Sunny Ojieh (Baker Hughes) who is a member of the conference advisory council highlighted during a pre-conference session that the global energy landscape is continually evolving hence developing nations like ours need to ensure regularly evolving strategies to balance the need for sustained economic development while mitigating the effects of climate change. In other words, Energy security remains a front-burner issue in several spheres. Furthermore, in taking cognizance of the challenges posed by global interconnectivity and the integration of energy systems, there is a need for all stakeholders across the entire energy value chain to develop workable strategies that will close energy gaps thereby guaranteeing energy availability and sustainability.

The IEHSE Conference program comprises high-level and interactive sessions with insights from industry leaders and expert-led discussions. Sessions include keynote addresses and a range of in-depth panel discussions. According to Mr. James Ashokeji, MD of IEHSE Limited, the Conference will provide a platform for industry leaders to share their thought on Nigeria’s energy transition narratives and the initiatives deployed to enhance environmental sustainability while upscaling its capacity to reduce energy poverty.

Engr.
