GABON: Coup hits Gabon after Ali Bongo’s 3rd Term Re-Election

Barely a few weeks after the military junta had taken over government in Niger, another coup has occurred in Gabon, a West African nation.
The army officers that appeared on national television to announce the coup, said they decided to seize power after President Ali Bongo was re-elected to a third term.
One of the soldiers, said: “We have decided to defend peace by putting an end to the current regime.”
