General cargo ship PEAK BILBAO suffered engine failure in North Sea north of East Frisian islands in the afternoon Feb 7, 2021, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “The ship transited Kiel Canal on her way from Szczecin Poland to Ridham Dock UK, with cargo of construction plasterboard, and was in German waters when accident occurred.

“Authorities were duly informed, emergency tug NORDIC (IMO 9525962) responded, taking disabled, drifting freighter on tow at around 1400 UTC Feb 7. As of 0300 UTC Feb 8, caravan was heading E, probably to Cuxhaven or to anchorage, depending understood, on engine condition and required repairs. Technical team was transferred from Cuxhaven to the freighter by helicopter.”
