COVID 19: Confirmed cases now 176,577 in Nigeria

The confirmed coronavirus pandemic cases have risen to 176,577 in Nigeria, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.

It stated; “On the 5th of August 2021, 566 new confirmed cases and 11 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

“Till date, 176577 cases have been confirmed, 165323 cases have been discharged and 2178 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The 566 new cases are reported from 12 states-Lagos (283), Akwa Ibom (88), Oyo (62), Rivers (62), FCT (18), Ogun (17), Ekiti (12), Kwara (11), Plateau (6), Zamfara (3), Kaduna (2), and Katsina (2).

“A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities.”
