Captain of bulk carrier MAPLE GLORY was medevaced by helicopter in the afternoon Jan 30 off Ferrol, Spain, Atlantic, and transferred to hospital, according to FleetMon.
It stated: “The ship which was en route from S-Petersburg Russia to Santos Brazil, requested medical assistance for sick Captain with “coronavirus symptoms”, whatever this may mean.”
It added: “Bulk carrier interrupted her voyage and headed for Ferrol to rendezvous with helicopter. Medevac was carried out in adverse weather conditions. MAPLE GLORY resumed her voyage.”
