MARITIME: Korean tanker missing in Gulf of Guinea

A Product tanker B OCEAN is suspected to be missing in the Gulf of Guinea, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “With all communications lost, since November 23, 2022, in the Gulf of Guinea, according to Trade Winds report.”
It also stated: “Piracy reporting body Maritime Domain Awareness for Trade Gulf of Guinea (MDAT GoG) suspects possible piracy.

“According to AIS and track, the tanker left Abidjan on October 2, 2022, sailed to Freetown anchorage, Sierra Leone, left it, and went to the area in the Gulf of Guinea, then returned to Freetown anchorage, to leave it again on November 17, 2022. The tanker returned to the same area and was either moving in legs or drifting. The last AIS post was received at 2300 UTC on November 23, 2022.
