Three Syrian workers in Beirut port, Friday, inhaled poisonous gas emitted by cattle feed on board of livestock carrier FM SPIRIDON, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “Feed was soaked by seawater, which entered the compartment through porthole after the ship developed a list, and that triggered gas emission.

“2 workers lost consciousness, but Civil Defense team of rescuers managed to take them out, alive.

“The third worker, unfortunately, died on the spot. The ship wasn’t identified, but all available data, including ship’s looks, point at FM SPIRIDON, currently docked at Beirut.”

It also added: “It is not known if injured persons are port workers, or members of the crew.”
